I saw the 9:30 club show. It started off great, but seemed to lose momentum. I don’t know if it was some of the crowd behavior, the heat, or what, but the whole vibe of the show just seemed to change as it went on. (This could be all be my imagination of course). I love the new album, and just wanted a better taste in my mouth. I saw the Rechter wasn’t sold out, I had never been, it was time to go. Great place, psyched crowd, and I felt, a great show. Gord admitted it was the last show for awhile and they were headed home, so understandably happy. The new songs are great live, and while I would have preferred a Stones or Band cover, the guys seemed to be having big fun with James Brown. Gord ended the night by saying “Have a great summer”, this show was the perfect start.
