Seasons Greetings From The Tragically Hip

Hi Folks,

As 2009 comes to a close, we are able to reflect on a year in which 87 shows were played, 55 stages graced, 7 countries visited, 2 continents trekked and one studio album released.

We want to thank all of you who have come out to see us along the way.

We have posted a full concert on our official You Tube channel. The show is from Abbottsford, BC. The show features stand out versions of many favorites, including a show opening New Orleans Is Sinking, an acoustic Fiddler’s Green, Gift Shop and strong takes on newer tunes, Yer Not The Ocean and Morning Moon.

Just in time for the last minute holiday shopper, we have added new products to the Gift Shop. The Live From The Vault series welcomes two new entries, plus Volume 4 is now available for digital download. (NB: for Volume 4 only, MP3’s will be available in early January. Flac is available now).

LFTV : Volume 4 was originally released as a limited edition cd, available to those who pre-purchased We Are The Same. The show is the oldest released to date. From the La Luna in Brussels in late 1994, this is a tight, well played show from the Day For Night era. The whole show is a ‘highlight’, but special attention is to be given to Gems, Locked and Yawning or Snarling.

LFTV : Volume 5 takes us to the Avalon in Los Angeles from October, 2004. A good representation of the band’s sound from this era, this show includes several songs that have rarely surfaced since that tour, like Mean Streak and You’re Everywhere. The show features one of the rare appearances of Twist My Arm from 2004.

LFTV : Volume 6 finds the band on the south shores of Lake Erie at The Odeon in Cleveland on a summer’s evening in 1996. This is LFTV’s first release from the highly regarded Henhouse Tour. This recording finds the band straddling the past, present and future. All five full-length albums released to that point are represented in the set list, and pieces of future songs like Poets and Escape Is At Hand find their way into a few of the jams.

The Gift Shop now has all the shirts and hoodies that have only been for sale on the road, including the We Are The Same Tour Shirt, Coffee Girl T and a hoody to keep you warm during the winter months.

2010 promises to be a busy year at thehip.com. More lyric T’s and Live From The Vault’s will be released and more site features and content to be unveiled.

Two Shows Postponed/Canceled

Denver & Minnesota Shows Canceled

Due to the Flu, the shows in Denver and Saint Paul have been canceled. The band expects to resume touring on Friday (Nov 6 in Salamanca) as scheduled.
