I thought the first show was better, but that could've been because I was
on the floor instead of in section 107 (right beside the stage). Plus,
there was lots and lots more booze and weed off the floor, which I don't
care about, but makes the people rowdy and really irritating... Like the
three teengaged kids (I'm one too, but I didn't piss me off) who lit about
6 joints between them, and then ran out of rolling papers, so had to ask
everyone around them for some, and were jostling and shouting and being
really shitty bastards the whole time. Or the drunk couples in front of
me...
But I thought as a whole the show wasn't as good. The crowd especially
didn't seem as into it, though again it could've been my position. And
there wasn't all the good Gord-isms like the first show... The first had
Lofty Pines (at the start of The Luxury), and some crazy-ass ranting
during 100th, and Insomniacs (I think--couldn't hear it too well on the
floor) during NOIS. The second show only had Insomniacs, which I could
hear really well, btw.
I'm not saying the show was bad, cuz it wasn't at all, just not as good as
the first... And for my first two Hip shows, I was mighty impressed. :)

As for taping the shows... I had a friend lined up to let me borrow her
MiniDisc recorder, but she backed out at the last minute. I had to borrow
a (junky, old) tape recorder for the shows from another friend...
Actually, that friend taped the first show, and I haven't heard it all
yet, but the stuff I did here turned out very well... But since he wasn't
really trying to get it right, he cut off parts of songs, and stuff like
that...
For the second show, I took the recorder myself. It turned out mostly
okay, except that it's a fricking battery hog, and I had to change batts 4
times during the show... and I only brought 6 batteries... So I lost most
of Lionized, and the entire second encore. :~(
And the drunk and/or stoned people kept yelling into the mic, and so
there's them intoducing themselves, or telling me I "fucking rock" or
"kick ass" or other stuffs....
All in all it's a pretty damn average recording. :/
