Hi everyone , just wanted everybody to know that I went to the
Hip show In Birmingham last night & it was great although I
wasn't happy with all of the set list + they only played one
hour. They did Flaenco and Springtime but did not do Lets
stay engaged or Don't wake daddy.Gift Shop was excelent as was
Ahead by a century .Grace Too ? Unbelieveable ! Most of the
people there "apx 1000" seemed interested but weren't into it.
I just wish these people in the south would wake up ! Don't
get me wrong , i'm originally from Louisiana . I just know
great music when I here it ! The hip just don't get the
airplay in the south like they should. Most of my friends love
the HIP since they first heard it , the problem is most people
in the south don't get that chance. I took my 11yr old son to
his first concert & we got to meet Gordon & have our pix taken
with him.We had a 30 minute chat.He was very nice & thought it
was great that a father & son liked the same kind of music !
My son's was so excited.Gordon was on a pay phone for an hour
talking to his dad on father's day. You could tell he was a
little homesick as he commented on missing his daughter also .
Well gotta go, I know most everyone on this newsgroup is from
Canada so I thought I would fill you in on the HIP in the
south. Wish I could go to the Nashville show tonight as well!
So long , David in Tupelo MS
