Bogart's, Cincinnati, Ohio  September 29th, 1998 review by Sharon Dudley via Henhouse mailing list

2AM, Wed, Sept. 30, 1998

Hello from Cincinnati! We are now gathered here at Theresa's two+ hours
after the show. "We" is Jason (from Tennessee), Jeanne (Chicago), Darren and
Darryl (brothers originally from Kingston) and myself (Sharon, Chicago).

Jeanne and I started the evening by hangin' at the Oldenburg Brewery around
the corner from Bogart's and Gord S., Robby and Johnny were there as well.
We opted not to be pests and let them dine without interruption.

The show was great, even though the crowd was sparse. However, with all of
us being in the front row, we didn't really notice other than the fact that
we were not being pushed into the security fence. It was great to have room
to move in the front row and to not be pushed up against the fence.
Unfortunately, the Watchmen didn't play to very many people at all, but
those who were listening really got into it. Danny even serenaded us with
the theme song from WKRP! Again, the Hip played a tight set. This group
cannot decide on the highlights, each of us seems to have our own favorites.
So Hard Done By, Nautical Disaster and 100th Meridian are on the list
though.

To top it all off,  we got to meet and hang with the Watchmen and The Hip
(all but Johnny) after the show. As stated before by many others, they are a
great bunch of guys and we just hung out and chatted about various topics.
Everyone got their stuff signed and Rob and Gordie were kind enough to pose
with us for photos. Thanks, guys!!

Set list, in order:

Gretchen, a Miami University junior, was behind us and Gord remembered her
birthday (20 today) during the introduction to Vapour Trails. Of course it
wasn't the usual "happy birthday", it was something about laying on the
grass looking up and being named Gretchen and being 20. (Gord had written
her name on his hand to remember this!)

Well, it's late, all but Theresa have long drives ahead of us tomorrow and
we're winding down now, so.... bye!

Theresa, Jason, Darryl, Darren, Jeanne and Sharon
