I nailed the secret location, phantom zone, back alley.

Kathy jo was there on schedule at the airport, we went straight to the saddledome.  You had to be there between 6:00 and 6:30 for PZ tickets doors opened at 6:30 so we went straight in and straight to the phantom zone after a stop at the liquor kiosk.

I can't explain what it's like to get to a security checkstop and they say "okay", keep going, next one, "okay", keep going, next one "okay", keep going.

We were the first ones in the stage left phantom zone.  We went straight to the middle and staked our place, and that's where we stayed.

By devine right was good.  They crowd was even into it "woooo"ing between songs, they seemed to appreciate the crowd.  The hip were of course great as always.  I took a whole 24 roll of film and I'll get to work on a PZ website in a week or two.  After the second encore I snuck myself between the light and the railing in the middle and god bless him, billy ray handed me Gord D's set
list.  I can't believe I have it here with me now.  the two best seats in the house, I wouldn't have traded with not one single person of the other 17,000 people there.

The was a speaker right there, would have been a sweet place to stick a recorder but I didn't have one.  Oh, well, I got some cool pictures.

I just can't believe what happened here tonight.

Wow.  What a day.

Goodnight.

Psych of the night.  Paul picks up an acoustic and plays the first three notes of boots or hearts.  The crowd reacts and the band laugh to each other.  They played wheat kings.

Also, anyone with a laser pointer feel free to stick it up your ass.  If there's anyone that deserves to have their worthless head pounded in it's someone with a laser trying to take out the eyesight of a performer on stage.

What else?  Too much to remember.  I have pictures of KJ in the phantom zone, you'll see.  More later.

Holy shit!  What an amazing show!  I've seen the Hip dozens of times, and I've never heard them sound tighter.  Gord was absolutely nuts, rambling and ranting throughout the entire show.  'Hundredth Meridian' must have been about 15 minutes long with a bunch of different stuff in the middle.  "Get Lanny McDondald to sing my eulogy" gord sang as he led the band back into the familiar chorus.  Finishing the second encore with 'On the Verge', the crowd went bezerk.  Wow!!  I can't stop saying it.  Wow!!  I can't wait till show #2 tonight.  Row 7.  Yeeeehaaaawww!! By Divine Right was pretty damn good.  I think I might invest in their new CD.  Anyway.  Amazing fucking show!  I don't know if they can top last night, but here's hoping they do.  Only 6 1/2 hours to go!

Cheers,
Casey
