Hi Folks,

For those who are interested these were the songs played at Die Kantine in Cologne, Germany on the 15th of November (in no particular order):

Use it up
Music at work
New Orleans is sinking
Fully, Completely
Silver Jet
Courage
Poets
Lake fever
It´s a good life if you don´t weaken
At the 100th meridian
Springtime in Vienna
Fireworks
All tore up
Chagrin Falls
Little bones
The dark canuck

encore:
Long time running
Are you ready
The wherewithal

Some comments:

Well, this was the second time for me to see the Hip playing live! (First experience was in 1997 in Utrecht at the Tivoli club) It took a 1150 km ride to get to Cologne from Hungary to see them with my sister and her husband!
We made ticket reservation through e-mail to make sure we don´t end up without tickets after the 10 hours drive! The club gave some directions, so it was quite easy to find the place even without a proper city map!
Die Kantine is a very small club that holds around 2-300 people including the bar area!
To my suprise there were quite a few Canadians at the club (some of them with flags). The Germans came later. By the time the Hip hit the stage the club was full!
I was expecting more songs from the earlier era (based on the current setlists), but it was not that night! In spite of it it was a very memorable night with a very active Gord! I meant it for his moves and not the rants. I suppose he has more of those in the English speaking countries. Only Paul seemed a little tired from time to time!
During Little bones Rob´s guitar had a problem and it was fixed only at the end of the song.
The only dissapointment I have that they played nothing from Day for night!
All in all it was a long trip worthing every moment of it!

Take care,

Gábor
