Did anyone tape it?
A couple of observations, as we waited to go in, I noticed the 89X gang huddled in the corner with their stickers and such, the funny thing was as we stood there for ten minutes, not a single "fan" walked up to the booth. I think that's a reflection of their lack of support for The Hip, that wasn't always the case with them, but I will say that after my earlier complaints about 89X, they did manage to play "Weaken" a few times (but nothing else).
The other odd thing was that 80% of the crowd missed the performance of Wayne, it was a good show, I didn't know any of their material, but they sure sounded good. The Hip always manage to have good bands open for them.
The crowd didn't show up till the last second for The Hip show. It was
kind of strange, with five or so minutes to go before The Hip hit the stage,
we were talking about the Walkerton show possibly hurting the gate at this
one, the place was half empty. It was strange. I looked around after the
first song and the place was full...crazy! I would call it the latest arriving
crowd in concert history!
