Just got back this morning from Vegas where The Hip played at the
Freemont Blues&Reggae.  Absolutely incredible - as ususal.

A friend and myself left work at Noon (Los Angeles) to drive to Vegas.
We arrived there with some time to eat and gamble a little - and then
get to the show just in time for the Hip to come on. We drove home
(back to LA) right after the show... driving 12:30AM to 5:30 AM
I am destroyed....but of course - it was worth it!!!!!

A large Canadian presence was felt.  I also talked to some Americans
who were Hip die-hards. One drove all the way from Washington.

The chanting started. HIP HIP HIP HIP HIP. (as you know you cannot
catch your breath while you chant this quickly :-)

The Hip apeared and the familiar sound of Gift started. The crowd
screamed and cheered - It was sensational....  "The beautiful Lull!..."
The arms were raised - thumbs up, #1 finger-salutes, and fists clenched
continued into Grace before Gordie took a breather to address the
fans.  The crowd was all smiles.  The fans knew how lucky they were to
share such a small venue with The Tragically Hip.

The Freemont was a medium sized blues bar.  Quite long, with a
relatively small dance floor.  The stage seemed too small for the size
of the place-- but Gordie and the rest of the Hip were definetely right
in your face.  Wow.

Rob gave me a song list at the end of the show.  I have to get back to
work - so I can't share any more thoughts on the show right now.  I will
later.  Here is the complete song list:
