Tonight, I guarantee the accuracy of the set list.....I am reading from
Gord Sinclair's copy!!! I was third row dead centre and have to say the
energy was higher than last night....It wasn't quite a sell out, but had
to be very close. All of the songs on the wish list were there (except
maybe for 50MC, but you know what, they didn't need it).

New O second song....how many bands can do that. Grace, Bobc and
Nautical all in the early going were special. Escape continues to become
more and more of a favorite, Courage had Gord pissing in the snow and
pointing at it, Fireworks was "on Raymond Bourque" as the new version
goes...cool! Meridian featured a great new story about how no one in
Regina had seen a whale, and that the band had brought one from B.C.,
Gord captured it himself, and brought it here...portaging along the
way...great version. The rest were all good too, finishing with Locked,
Wheat "about compensation" and Blow.....unreal.

Thugs to start the encore...took me awhile to make sure I had the right
song, and apparently I wasn't the only one who was unsure....Gord starts
the second verse "everyone's got.....that's not right...." totally
forgot the words, he looks at Paul who looks at Gord Sinclair and no one
seems to have an idea...a couple more bars and Gords looking in the
audience here and there "do you know it...do you know it?" a pretty big
dude with the shaved head wanders in from the side, looks up, checks
with security, and he's onstage! He whispers some words to Gord, but
Gord just points at the mic...."hairbird plucks a hair...." he and Gord
do the verse together and rub each other's bald head....great moment!!!!
Long Time was a great mellow delivery as the crowd totally sang along
and Wherewithall a great, high enery finish. Did I say wow!!!

Thanks for the setlist Gord Sinclair....and thanks to the security guard
for Gord Sinclair's setlist!

Have to mention Sam Roberts, he did a great job again....he had some
problems with a guitar chord one song, he's down on his knees fixing it,
and just stands up in time to scream out the last word with a huge grin
on his face....goes on to say that it was another "technically perfect
delivery". These guys are a fun band with some great tunes. Almost the
same songs as the night before....no S O C I A L I S M  though. Two of
my buddies bought his CD (I have it as well), so he's gaining some fans
along the way.

Time to sleep....if that's possible!

Jay
