I met a guy from south of Sarnia, never got his name. He said that he was going to Pine Knob on Saturday with 26 friends in a bus. He should have got some prime pictures.
I got a fairly good recording. Listening to Fever right now and the vocals mix is getting better. There's some pretty hefty crowd noise, there was a chick right behind me who seemed to be perfecting her schreech and how long she could hold it. So far I'd say it's a B maybe a B+.
During Grace Gord was kicking around the stand and almost lost it, but saved it right before it was gonna hit a bouncer in the head. In saving it from going offstage, it hit the floor. During Fire however, he was not so fortunate. The mic flew off it's stand and landed on the floor between two bouncers. He reached for it and it was gone. He turned to his shaky-thing table and got the yellow round shaky-thing and an odd shaped shaky thing. Meanwhile a befuddled bouncer placed the mic back on stage. Gord got on his hands and knees and played his toys and screamed at the mic on the floor
for a good minute it seemed. I was trying so hard not to laugh my ass off.
Courage was the highlight tonight. Gord (oh yeah he wore ole green shirt and black tie) was intense, ripping his heart out of his chest and holding out for us with those terrible grimices...what a show!!!

There's so much more but I gotta crash and do it all over again tomorrow...:)

scoots the shaky thing

Well I just got back from the Grand Rapids show and boy was that show  intense. Fantastic show. we got there just after doors opened and I was able to get very front row against the barrier right directly infront of Gord S. and Bobby. This was my first small venue show and man let me tell you it was fantastic. Gordie was at his best and so where the rest of the guys.(of course) Chris and Kate were great...Kate looking as hot as ever! As for my review just read scoots because I was right beside scoots  the entire show! I was beside a fellow henhouser and didn't even know it until I
read your review! YA SCOOTS!!!! That was me right beside you, the guy from Sarnia! Pretty crazy shite, eh!
Ya I took just one roll of film (stupid me) I only brought one roll and used most of them within the first 10 minutes.( i was tempted to use them all on Kate Fenner..WOW) Scoots, you'll agree with me on this one...she was devine!!! Anyway I don't have a scanner or anything but my buddy does so I'll get them developed and use his and try and post them whenever i get a chance.
OHHHHHHH I almost forgot all night I was asking security guards in front of me to grab me a setlist after the show. Sure enough at the end the roadie with the cowboy hat and the long hair, I can't think of his name right now came  over and took them off the stage and i reached over and was able to
snag Bobby Baker's setlist!!!!!!!and to make things even better another roadie came over and gave away a set of Johnny's sticks that he musta used earlier to this girl and I tried to grab em too, but i let go and let this lady have it. And what does this lady do......she says "Well I'll share with you!!!" I was dumbfounded.
So all in all, I had front row, got Bobby's setlist, one of Johnny's sticks(with a tiny crack in it), and I met my first fellow henhouser, (without even knowing it at the time)..so all in all a GREAT NIGHT!!!!!!
Sorry for any spelling, grammar mistakes, etc. I'm still sooo pumped!!!!
P.s. Sxcoots I sorta had a feeling it was you all along..b/c you said you were ther 2 years ago, you were recording, and I thought you had said you were bald or something like that????? CWWWWAAAAZZYY! Anyway it was nice meeting ya scoots! Have fun tommorrow night, I wish I could be there!
Only 2 more days til Pine Knob!!!!!!! Me and 26 of my friends in a mini-coach bus we rented.....it's gunna be amazing, drivin a couple hours to Pine Knob, throwin back the wobbly pops...(speaking of which as I discovered tonight the boys like their Heineken).....
--No matter how great Pine Knob will be It'll always be tough to EVER top tonight!!!!!!
With My Belly Full I intended to get things done!!!-Gord D.
Go Check and the Checksters!!!!(that's for you scoots)

This was the first of two back to back shows at The Orbit Room. I
hate making show(s) comparisons, but of the previous TTH shows
I've attended, this one had the best setlist. I was talking to several
people after the show, and everyone agreed this was an awesome
set, and I don't know how The Hip can top this tomorrow night.

Band / Stage setup: Behind the stage was a raised cloth featuring
the "Music @ Work" yellow/red/green trees centered in between a
white pyramid and black circle. (This image is shown on page 18 of
the MAW cd sleeve) There were also four spotlites that were used
for lighting effects--two on each side of Johnny Fay, and one on
            Kate's and Robby's side.

The setlist consisted of twenty one songs, and two encores. It was
great to hear Tiger The Lion and The Bastard played live. Both
songs come across very good live. Other tracks from "Music @
Work" included, Lake Fever, Freak Turbulence, My Music at
Work, and The Completists. In addition, they also threw in tons of
suprises, including--Pigeon Camera, Courage, The Rules, Scared,
Little Bones and Fire In The Hole. Ahead By A Century was listed
on the setlist, but wasn't played.

Another cool element to the show was the onstage appearances of
Chris Brown and Kate Fenner. Chris percussion was outstanding on
Gift Shop, Springtime in Vienna, Fireworks, and Courage. Kate's
background vocals were equally impressive on Tiger The Lion,
Scared, The Rules and Something On.

Overall an excellent show, and I can't wait for tomorrow night!
