Ok, I just now got back from the Hip in Halifax, I can't here
a thing and I have no voice left but I really don't care because It was
worth it. Gord put on a pretty good show. If you could take all the hash
smoke drifting around the Metro Center than you had a phenomenal time.
I gotta go to bed now so
God bless the Hip.
What a fucking amazing show. They beat the hell
out of the last time I saw them, on the Another Roadside Attraction tour
- I guess they really are an indoors band. Gordon was in fine form;
his opening line was: "What I want to know, is what kind of initiation
DOESN'T require that you eat your own vomit?" That's Gord - always
on the ball. He didn't really do a monologue during NOIS, instead
they put in some song (not one of theirs) which I didn't know. Anyone?
He did speak for a bit during 100'th Meridian, but I couldn't make out
what he was saying. Anyway, here's the set list, drawn from my inebriated
scribblings, which will likely set the tone for the rest of the tour.
Oh, and if you're going to see them, I hope you like the new album...

So all told, there were no songs from the first self-titled release,
2 from Road Apples, 2 from Up To Here, 6 from Fully Completely, and the
other 10 (!) were from Day For Night; out of 14 on the whole album. But
truthfully, seeing them do it live made me appreciate the new stuff even
more than I had...You're in for a good time.
PS It was a pretty trippy light show too...
