What a show. I drove all the way from Vancouver hoping the seats I
bought were good ones. Turns out they were awful. All the way behind the
stage (guy I bought them off said they were directly beside the stage).
While my travelling buddy and I stood out front of the arena, a guy
walked up to the ticket window we were standing beside and the following
conversation took place:

guy: Anyone want to go down to the Phantom Zone, I have an extra ticket?

me: Uh, yeah..

guy: Lets go!

me: Cool. (Am I on candid camera or what?)

The look on my face must have been similar to the one when Elizabeth
Hurley asked me to sleep with her to get back at that idiot husband of
hers. Got down to the zone, took my time admiring all the people I was
walking past, and asked the security guard where I could sit/stand.
"Wherever you want." Of course. BDR was done and the boys were on there
way out. The place goes nuts as Gordie walks out and the band flies into
Save the planet. Very cool. Didn't write down  the setlist (I hope
someone did) but there were some pleasant surprises. Boots was awesome.
We'll go too, Penguin were highlites for me.

Most of the people in the Phantom Zone looked like deer in the
headlights. Didn't let it bother me, grooved my ass off starting when
they kicked right into Courage without missing a beat.

It was my fifth hip concert, and right up there with the gig I saw in
Seattle on the DFN tour with about 300 people in a little club near the
space needle.

I will be going to both shows in Vancouver and down to Seattle, Eugene
and L.A. (driving down at the same time as the tour) 8:)

Anyone else travelling down to the Oregon gigs?

Adam.
