Got into the show tonight, despite writing 2 midterms today.  Thanks Juan, I got in right after you. I was really impressed with the show, everything seemed tight despite so much time off.  Gordie's rants where fresh and some variations on parts of songs were
more than welcome, despite the quality of the performance.  I have to give it up for everyone who was there because it was the best crowd I have seen at a show in a long time. No, violence or drunken idiots running around.  There was a strong sense of patriotism that actually fit because of the olympic hockey.  Everyone was singing along and just having a great time.  Cheers to you all because you earned it.
Gotta get some sleep now, hopefully I will be able to seed the show within a few weeks.

Hey Rory,
the show was incredible...of the 20 I've seen, the best...the smallness of the room, the crowd absolutely nuts...preceeding the "great white game"...priceless...I think the setlist reflected the fact that it was a 'warmup' for the Olympic show and to what they'll play down there.  Can't wait for the recording though
 either!!!

It's all about expectations, I knew it would only be a 90min. set and pretty much expected a greatest hits with 2-3 new ones as it was clearly a "let's play some comfortable songs to prepare for Salt Lake"  kind of Gig.  I actually enjoyed the ORDER of the set list.

I stood eye to eye with Paul on the rail... it was a younger croud than usual with an equal amount of woman to men which I found also different. Close to U of T or was it "reading" week I don't know... but after piling us into the bar at 5pm it was a sure set-up for 2+ hours of drinking before even 2-5ths of the Skydiggers hit the Stage. Although I own & enjoy their CD's - not worth detailing their set right now!

I saw a great tattoo of "cherries" just before the show (this is another show altogether)  Poets-was a great starter... Gord was wearing a Black toque that said security on the front. NOIS was a surprise 2nd & the Grace in the middle was nice but I like many enjoy it as an opener or the 1st song of the encore. Gift Shop stood out ? not sure...why... PUTT'IN DOWN... gordie's guitar plug got messed up and he was pissed because of his strumming part... it was still a "keeper"... BOB C... seemed abit slower leading up to the "...night in Toronto" part and I saw Paul, Gord S & Bobby all eye-connect just after that part... with the "right on" nods.. M@W closed the set off nicely...

Lake Fever was slower & without keyboards... different & juicy, I love Paul on this one & they all seemed to just realize that this was the perfect song to kick off the encore. the next song was new, but seemed old school for the HIP... I loved Paul's riff in this one and Gord S really plucked this song on bass like a champ... for sure the better song..comparing to the others.

And hey BLOW  AT HIGH DOUGH

Oh ya,...and during Courage it was " Come on in Courage and sit down, have some dinner, please join us won't you Courage"....something along those lines....
