I just thought I'd tell you that I was at The Hip's concert last night.
It was the first stop of their Tour '95.
The concert started at 7:30 (Maritimes), we got there at around 9:00
thinking that the Hip would only go on around 10:00 because of their two
opening bands. Surprise, surprise, they were already playing.
I don't know how many songs we missed but I was waiting to hear stuff
from Up to Here and only heard New Orleans is Sinking and maybe one or
two others. I didn't get to hear Boots or Hearts, 38 Years Old or
any other of my favorites like Wheat Kings, Fiddlers Green, etc...
I did get to hear Courage, Fully Completely and a couple of other songs
on their new album that I'm not too familiar with because I like the old
stuff better. The Moncton Coliseum was sold out or almost, there
were only around fifty tickets left at 6:00. What a hyper crowd!!
I'm glad I wasn't on the floor, there was alot of shoving and alot of people
had to get pulled out from the crowd (like most concerts but I think this
was the worst I ever saw). They came out for encores twice but didn't play
as long as other bands do especially on the second one. I've seen
over 50 concerts and expected a little bit more maybe it's because I didn't
get to hear almost every song I play on the guitar from them... I would
like to see more comments as they play across Canada. Anyways just
my 0.02$. Let me know if you like it?
Thanks
J.D.
