Hello all-

Ok, I just got home from the show & am tired as hell, but before I rest I will share with all my henhouse friends a little info about the show. Let me just say that this is going to be one awesome tour. For those of you holding tickets to upcoming shows, you will not be disappointed. To me the boys seemed fresh, motivated & thoroughly seemed to enjoy getting back to playing live & playing
the new stuff. They played most of the cd actually as you can see.

Use It Up (Great new opener)
M@W
New Orleans (surprise here - straight up studio)
Fully (killer)
Lake Fever (with synch drum loop opening)
Silver Jet (Gord rappin it out)
Courage (wish I coulda heard what he was saying about courage before)
Good Life
Poets
Beautiful Thing (Wow!)
100th Meridian
Springtime (yessssssssssssssss)
All Tore Up
Giftshop
Darkest One (my personal favorite of cd & sounded awesome!)
Nautical

Thugs (!!!!)
Are You Ready
Blow

I second that. I was at the show and it kicked ass. I totally dug the show and the way they reworked some songs. Chris - I think you forgot ABAC with the really cool funky drum beat. And I *loved* the drum loop for Lake Fever. The only (minor) disappointment for me was the absence of Grace, Too or it's country equivalent, Dire Wolf.

The best part of the show was the way Johnny and Gord S were so fully, completely ON. The rhythm section was kicking ass all the way. Best I've ever seen them! Highlight song for me was Thugs. Sweeeeeeeeeet!

Amit

ps. Why is it so disgusting when Americans wave the flag and sing God Bless America, but it's OK for Canadians to demand to be let up to the front of the stage "because I'm Canadian"?
Inquiring minds want to know....

Hey Hipsters,

Was down at the Philly show last night.  What a good, good time.  I had missed the M@W tour, so the was the first time to see the boys since phantom power.  The show was awesome ... the hip are still rolling along making great rock and roll.  If any one from the band reads this: Thanks for all the years and memories of great music, with none of the bs.

The TLA is always a great place to see a band.  Being an American Hip fan (since Road Apples tour), I find it hard to imagine seeing the hip in large Arena and Stadium venues.  It just 'feels' so right to see and hear the band with only a few hundred close fans.  I can understand all you canucks coming south for the shows ... on a side note I only saw one flag (thanks).

A little more on the show ....

These are east coast summer days.  Hot and Humid.  Inside the TLA it must have been about 105, the air was so thick with moisture it looked like a tropical rainforest.  The perfect medium for the conveyance of emotion.  You had no choice, there was no reason, the only path was to give yourself over to the music and power of the Hip.  Just along for the ride with 600 hundred other sweating, dancing, shaking, lunatics. A good, good time.  The new stuff was well received and when they busted out the classics, the crowd took over.  Here are the songs I remember (the order won't be right)

Use It Up (excellent opener)
Music at Work
NOIS
Fully Completely
Silver Jet (love this)
Courage
All Tore Up
Gift Shop
Springtime in Vienna
Poets
Nautical Disaster
Lake Fever
The Darkest Ones
Its a good life...
Beautiful Thing
Thugs
Are You Ready
Blow at High Dough

By the time they finished, everyone was spent and exhilarated.  And drenched in sweat and emotion.  Thank You Hip.

Everyone, get out and experience the Hip.

See ya,
Dave
