Metropol, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania October 2nd, 1998 review by Corey Stephenson via Henhouse mailing list

I'm happy to say, the hip were in excellent form tonight.  This
was the best I've seen them since Roadside in '95 (save the show in '96 in
Northampton).  Anyway, the set was tight, and a good mix of old and new.
Gord was up to his good old mumbling self...most of the time, the crowd,
at least 1/3 of my fellow canucks, was screaming, and it was tough to pick
it up.  But, here's a little something which was his intro to Chagrin
Falls.. "I appreciate your requests..I appreciate your song
loyalty..Here's a song that's loyal to no one..I won't allow it."  And one
other that i caught, "The Anesthesiologist is washing her hands, and will
be with you in a minute."   The last thing was that Gord was more active
than i've seen him in a while on stage.  One more i can't resist giving
you all, coming on stage for the encore, he picked up the guitar,
hesitated, and put it back down..."I'm gonna need two hands for this one"
It was the best Grace i've seen.  Sorry to rant so long, here's the set
list.

Planet
Twist
Poets
Gift
Bob
Nautical
ABAC
Luxury

Courage
Fireworks

It's too bad that Metropol is anal and only let them play till
10...still amazing, and besides, i now have another drumstick to add to
the collection
