I haven't posted much here as of late, but the Hip I&I at MusiquePlus in Mtl. is something to talk about! I won tickets on the 'net, to my utmost surprise and excitement. Got there late cuz of traffic, so had to stand at the back, but there must've only been a hundred people there, if that...
Anyway, the show was great! I can't remember the order the songs were played, but they did play 8 from M@W, plus a few requests. Here's a list:
Puttin' Down
Freak Turbulance
Fireworks
MM@W
Stay
Lake Fever
Fire in the Hole
Tiger the Lion
Toronto #4
Escape
BobC
Courage
Completists
Poets
I hung around after the show and was fortunate enough to get a pic with each of the guys (Gord Downie was wearing a white terry cloth hat - how cute was that?? :) ), as well as their autographs and the autographs of Chris and Kate! Kate thought the whole autograph thing was really cool- she says she's starting to get used to being on stage with the guys, and she's having a lot of fun.
Since I became a Hip fan, I have loved the sexy Mr. Downie. Now, I have to admit that the other Gord, Mr. Sinclair is not only the nicest member of the band, IMHO (Bobby seems really nice, too, but he's much quieter), but a hottie as well! I don't know what took me so long to realize it...
Time to dream of the Hip...

OK all you guys and gals, What did you think of that show? I got out
of it, real love, the band loves its fans as much as its fans
love it!! As much as I adore Gord D, I hope when they do Toronto the
rest of the guys say something, I'd love to hear how Johnny's doing, and
what about the terrible calluses Rob, Gord, Paul and now Gord must have
playing day after day?
Wow, just loved hearing them speak from the heart. I love Gord's story
on Toronto #4, I feel like telling him I'll lend him my grandma!! :-)

Hey all,
Great show although Gordie seemed a little awkward at times and he seemed
to be having problems with Fire in the Hole...probably due to not having
a nice long intro...the song doesn't benefit from a standing start to be
sure...The best thing to come out of the whole show for me was the confirmation
that the band is as sick of NOIS as I am...And 2 different knuckleheads
asked them to play it as their special request!!!! I mean, WTF?!?!?
This is your big chance! You're on national TV! Your heroes are standing
just meters away! They want to play anything you want to hear! Anything!
"Ummmm....gee....ummm....I don't know....New Orleans is Sinking?"
You could see Gord's teeth grinding from across the room...
Here's hoping it will be banned from the setlist for a while...
Also, I'm laying 3-1 odds that at least 3 people ask for it when they
play Much Music...
There's a party in my mind and I hope it never stops,
Sean
