Like the fellow fan from Calgary who traveled 9 hours to Spokane our crew
hopped down I5 from Vancouver to Portland to see the band on a Saturday night.

The venue was the 1000 seat Roseland theater which from the outside looked
like a decrepit black warehouse complete with broken windows and chained up
doors. Amazingly enough the show wasn't a sell out with loads of Tix at the
door and wild Canucks running amuck outside chanting 9-8-4!  9-8-4!

Inside it wasn't much better with the only saving grace for this place being
its licensed balcony. Too bad it was like a fucking sauna up there!

At any rate the crowd was pumped and, yes, mostly Canadian and to our delight
Gord saunters on stage and states "It's nice to see a man hit his stride isn't
it" refering of course to Mr. Donovan Bailey who had just set a World Record
and stolen the Gold from our host country, Oh Yeah!!!

The show was excellent, Kudos to Sherry Jackson the opener, with lots of new
and old material sounding as sweet as it is.

My only complaint is about the usual morons who think we all came to see them
jump up on stage and body surf away no matter how many times Gord requested
they stop. He seemed quite pissed off at this and I think the show was cut
short due to his angry state of mind.

At any rate what we saw was excellent and my special thanks to whoever booked
the hip in Portland the same weekend as the Oregon Brewer's Festival!

Bye for now!
