Saturday after the Hip show at Higherground in
Wisnooski Vt (Which was one of the best shows I've seen, the Q&A
was a nice touch) I got to meet the band for the first time.
They were all very good about answering questions and signing autographs.
Especially Rob, I brought a bootleg CD, that I downloaded from theHip.org,
(thanks guys) it was an old show from July 1988 at the Horseshoe in Toronto.
I gave the cover, that I had made with an old picture of Gord D. on the
front (with the old school rock&roll hair) to Rob for an autograph.
He looked at it and laughed then signed it, then he took a look at the
track list on the back and said "You have Waltz For Juliette on this?
Is it live?" I told him yes that every song on the two discs was
live from that show and then just some add ons, I then pointed out that
one of the tracks on the disc was Psycadelic Ramblings of Rich Kids.
He seemed pretty suprised and asked were I'd gotten the cd. I told
him that I had put it together from songs off the web. Then he told
me that he didn't even have a copy of the song Waltz For Juliette,
with out thinking twice I just blurted out, Do you want it? Rob seemed
pretty suprised at that and said sure and thanked me. As corny as
this may sound it just felt really good about being able to kind of give
something back to the guys that have given so much to there fans.
Sorry about the long post but I just had to tell the story. Thanks
again to the hip.org for supplying the show. I should be getting
a copy of the show at Higherground so I'll try to upload it as soon as
I get it.
Thanks For Reading,
Chris

The show in Winooski was awesome ! We were third row center in
front of Gordy. They played wheat kings, locked, abac, little bones,
courage, poets, fireworks... can't remember what else for older stuff.
But I gotta agree with someone elses comments about the rochester show.
I was not real psyched about the new album. I have been reserving
judgement until I listened to it more as I felt the same way about pretty
much every album since fully completely but ended up liking them.
The new songs are FANTASTIC live !!!! I didn't like tiger the lion
before the show but like someone said, I understood it better seeing it
live. Stay was great too. Got some good pictures during and after.
Thanks for another great show guys and thanks for chatting after - hope
you had fun at the F1 race in Montreal sunday ! Get psyched and see
everyone in Boston !!!!!
thanks, Dwight
