sights and getting the stage set up early. For this tour, the stage featured
a theatre-like motif, complete with a chandelier hanging above the stage.

Notes: This show saw the first appearance of Yawning
or Snarling in the setlist since the 1995 ARA tour. Also, the Hip weren't
originally going to stop in Moncton on this tour, but because of a local
radio DJ, and a petition, they decided to play there after all. The DJ
set up a tent in the parking lot of the venue, and stayed there 24 hours
a day, all the while collecting signatures on his petition to get the Hip
to come and play there, until they complied.

Notes: Gord D. introduced Bobcaygeon as being
a "love song that takes a torpedo hit." At the Hundredth Meridian included
improvisational versions of works-in-progress Lofty Pines Motel and Never-Ending
Present.

Notes: Gord introduced Flamenco "This song is
called Sweet Sunshine in February." This show got some bad press the next
day in the Ottawa Sun. The journalist essentially said that the guys had
lost their touch, and could no longer claim to be Canada's best rock band.
Reviews from some fans echoed this journalist, saying that the night was
filled with "slow songs" and that the band "really wasn't into it."

Notes: Gord D. was heard singing a little it about
the tour up to that point, at the end of Giftshop, mentioning Charlottetown
and Quebec City. Apparently he was very animated on stage, more than usual.
At one point a beach ball made its way up on stage, and Gord played with
it awhile before kicking it back out to the crowd.

of the entire tour, the band was in very high spirits throughout the whole
show. Gord D. expressed his delight on being in Detroit and at the Palace
on more than one occasion.

Notes: Gord D. apparently had some trouble with
his pants being too loose, and almost lost them trying to adjust his ear
monitors. Again, the band was in good spirits, bantering back and forth
to each other during songs. The venue had some great acoustics, as Gord's
ramblings could be heard quite easily from every seat.

Notes: The first of two shows at Copps, the band
always seems to love playing "the Hammer". The crowd was singing over top
of the band during Nautical Disaster, and Blow at High Dough got a great
crowd even louder.

at all, as he was extremely talkative with the crowd. He did, however,
have problems hitting the high notes during Thompson Girl.

Notes: This show was a fund-raiser for Camp Trillium,
a camp for children with cancer, and their families. All proceeds from
this show went to the Camp. Don Cherry introduced the band before they
came out, and before the first encore, Bobby Baker came on stage wearing
a Mississauga Ice Dogs jersey, the OHL team that plays out of the Hershey
Centre, which Don Cherry also owns. One of the very few shows on this tour
where At the Hundredth Meridian did not appear.

Notes: A very receptive and appreciative crowd
made this show a real gem. Gord D. would say later on that without the
Jets, the Winnipeg crowd was left with little to cheer about. He made references
to the departed hockey team during Fifty Mission Cap ("won the Jets the
cup"), and played Thompson Girl during the first encore, an homage to Thompson,
Manitoba.
