The Hip BT Tracker has moved!
The Hip BT Tracker It took 18 months and nearly 3000 users but we’ve outgrown the original tracker site. All user accounts need to be re-created on the new tracker so go ahead and sign-up at http://bt.hipfans.com.
It’ll take a few days for me to get all of the customization done, but it is fully functional right now.
All donations and status details from the original tracker will be transferred to the new site.

TheHundredthMeridian.com
Hipfans.com has acquired The Hundredth Meridian. The founder and original host of the site, Jerremy, was unwilling to do it “half-assed” so he put out the request for a new home. The demands of real life were preventing him from giving it the attention it required.
The team at Hipfans.com know what a valuable resource the site is, and couldn’t let this opportunity pass us by. The site is online and files are ready for downloading now. Jerremy is sending the hard drive to me as I type. Once I receive it, the balance of shows will be online.

Sasquatch! Festival – Streaming Video Highlights
Visit http://video.msn.com/v/us/v.htm
Here’s what fellow Hip fan Hugh has to say:
THERE IS NOW A 17 MINUTE CLIP OF THE HIP PERFORMANCE FROM SASQUATCH AT THIS LINK. SONGS SHOWN:
RINK
TRY
FULLY
POETS
Click on the link and when the page loads go to the bottom and click “More Sasquatch”. When the page loads, go to the bottom again and click “View All Sasquatch”. When the page loads click on The Hip link and the 17 minute clip begins. I have a broadband connection and view most internet media without problem. The first half of this clip seems to be edited in a stop and go style, and the last half of the clip streams perfectly. I don’t know if this was done on purpose or if it might be my internet connection screwing up. Every time I reload the clip it does the same thing. Oh well. The audio is perfect and you can hear two of the new songs. Gord is full of energy in his voice and on stage actions!!
VERY AWESOME!!!

CANOE — JAM! Music: The Hip to get big musical honour
From CANOE — JAM! Music
TORONTO (CP) – They’ve always been hip, but soon they’ll be royal.
The Tragically Hip will be honoured by The Royal Conservatory of Music at a so-called Royal Occasion gala on May 24. The band’s members will be presented with an honorary fellowship at the event, held annually by Canada’s largest and oldest independent arts school. “Each year, the conservatory honours Canadian artists who have made a lasting contribution to the arts,” Peter Simon, president of The Royal Conservatory of Music, said Tuesday in a release.
“We’re proud to recognize the achievements of The Tragically Hip, a quintessentially Canadian band whose music resonates with millions of fans.”
The Tragically Hip, formed in 1986 by five friends from Kingston, Ont., will perform for the guests following the presentation.
In the 10 years since it began, the Royal Occasion has honoured some of Canada’s greatest artists, including soprano Isabel Bayrakdarian, Vancouver Symphony music director Bramwell Tovey, Broadway singer and stage actor Louise Pitre, pop group Barenaked Ladies, singer/songwriter Bruce Cockburn, tenor Richard Margison, producer/songwriter David Foster and jazz pianist Oscar Peterson.
Proceeds from the event will support the conservatory’s Community School, the Young Artists Performance Academy, The Glenn Gould School and Learning Through the Arts, a public school program.
The conservatory hopes to open a new state-of-the-art centre for performance and learning next year. The $92-million project will feature a 1,140-seat concert hall, new studios and classrooms, a new-media centre, library and rehearsal hall.
The Hip, who’ve garnered 11 Junos and an induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, are currently recording a new studio album.
