Colour Of The Night – Richard Beland photo exhibition
“Photographer Richard Beland (www.richardbeland.com) will have an exhibit of his Tragically Hip photos on display at Toronto’s Pikto Gallery from October 1 to November 27 in a retrospective showing billed as Colour Of The Night. Beland has shot the group at more than 100 concerts since 1993 and was also the photographer for their In Violet Light and In Between Evolution albums. He was nominated for a Juno Award for his contribution to the artwork for Hip singer Gord Downie’s solo album, The Battle Of The Nudes, and has captured the images of Coldplay, The Cure, Nickelback and Nirvana, among many other prominent bands, over the years.”
We met Richard while we were in Europe and if the glimpses of his images that we caught over his shoulder are any indication of what this show will be like, we are in for a real treat!

New Hip graphics….
MAv posted these at Hipbase and it got me wondering; What is he up to? Are these preview images for the new album/website? Was he bored, and decided to have some fun with PhotoShop?
What do you think?
A Heksenketel DVD; I want one!
I was checking out my Tragically Hip items on eBay RSS feed and saw a listing for Heksenketel – the 1994 “documentary” of the 1992 – 1993 ARA Tour – released on VHS. This, coupled with the regular requests I get from fans asking to post a torrent of a digitized version to the tracker, got me thinking, “Why hasn’t Heksenketel been released on DVD?”
Well you can tell your friends that you read it here first because I think that in light of all the recent changes at The Hip World Headquarter’s that we will see a DVD version of Heksenketel!
Now this is purely conjecture, and a lame attempt by me to generate some discussion, but I’d love to get a copy on DVD. Thoughts?
